Fixtures of my imagination

Having poured over catalogues and hours on the internet I arrived at the plumbing showroom to settle our choices.  I came prepared with my notes and reference numbers, ready to put this task to bed.  I signed in at the front desk and was informed that my sales agent would be Dan, not Bart.  Dan shook my hand (for way too long) and off we went to his desk.

He had a computer on his desk but instead of typing on the keyboard he took out a spiral notebook, labeled each page according to each bathroom and began to transcribe what I wanted.  Occasionally we looked up the product on the computer.  Not sure why he was going this route but I continued.

Throughout our discussion there was a tone of obsequiousness that I had to bear.  Again, not sure why the relationship felt like this rather than all business.  Nevertheless, TWO hours later (there's that TWO again) I left the showroom, knowing that I would receive a quote in a few days with all my plumbing fixtures listed, their catalog numbers and prices.  Now that's progress.
