Much of this process deals with waiting and decision making, but not necessarily in that order. We entered into this project with lots of experience, years of remodeling and additions, inside and outside of our cherished home in Corvallis. Unfortunately, those experiences still pale in comparison to demolishing a house and starting from scratch. It will be a whole lot easier on the construction crew without having to marry the new to the old but I have to admit that it is a whole lot more difficult on the No. 2 coordinator (that's me-- we have hired a contractor to organize most of the job). I did not expect so many butterflies in my stomach as we attempt to move forward.
The weather is gorgeous and yet we wait for the excavator, risking more wet soil as each day passes (it might rain). All day at the computer choosing fixtures and paying bills for this thing that hasn't even risen from the ground yet. More butterflies. More waiting....and not waiting.
